Grok Bot: Mr. Musk's Product Claims, Logged

CEO posts about Grok Bot speed, shopping, a card screenshot, phone reservations, and a SpaceX reimbursement line. User anecdotes stay user anecdotes. None of this is a benchmark or a security review.

These are CEO product claims and user anecdotes. They are not an independent benchmark, and they are not a security review. Mr. Musk wrote the sentences below on X. The people he quote-posted wrote theirs. This desk did not run the bot, did not place an order, and did not audit a card vault.

This page is the receipt. It sits on xAI and Grok and on the xAI company hub.

“Much faster,” and a 3x that is the bot account’s

On October 16, 2026, at 19:55 UTC, the @bot account posted:

Grok Bot is much faster. Computer tasks finish 3x sooner on average, and replies to everything else arrive in less than half the time.

At 23:35 UTC the same day, Mr. Musk quote-posted it:

Grok @Bot got much faster

Label: Claim. The “3x” and the “less than half the time” are the @bot account’s words. His post adopts “much faster” and does not add a method, a sample, or a date range. Neither post is a benchmark this desk can rerun.

A maybe-Amazon line, and a block this desk did not confirm

On October 15, 2026, at 12:52 UTC, Mr. Musk quote-posted @thecsguy:

Maybe we should start a competitor to Amazon 🤔

The quoted post, October 15 at 11:24 UTC, says “amazon is blocking grok @bots from ordering” and says Mr. Musk’s answer is to have the bot buy somewhere else. It also says one of that user’s bots “only handles my amazon returns.”

Label: The competitor sentence is his, and it names no company, date, or product. The blocking sentence is the user’s. Yahoo Finance (Prabhjote Gill, October 16, 2026; the page says it was originally published on StockTwits) writes in the lead that Amazon blocked Grok Bot, and later says an Amazon spokesperson said third-party shopping apps should “operate openly and respect service provider decisions.” That spokesperson sentence does not say Amazon blocked the bots. This desk did not open an Amazon page that says so. The block stays the user’s claim, which the Yahoo lead repeats as fact.

“SpaceX will make you whole”

On October 15, 2026, at 05:57 UTC, Mr. Musk quote-posted @XFreeze, who had written that the bot booked a flight from a photo of a credit card:

This works well. If Grok @Bot makes a mistake with a purchase or leaks your card (never happened yet), SpaceX will make you whole.

Label: Claim, from the CEO. “Never happened yet” is his parenthetical. The sentence is not a published reimbursement policy, not an insurance contract, and not a finding that a card has or has not leaked. The same Yahoo Finance roundup quotes “SpaceX will make you whole” and describes a reimbursement if the bot made an incorrect purchase or exposed card details. The post is the narrower text. The flight story is @XFreeze’s anecdote.

A card screenshot, and “around around 20”

On October 18, 2026, at 02:03 UTC, Mr. Musk quote-posted @Teslaconomics, who described texting a bot to order a ball:

This works well. Screenshot of credit card is the easiest way, unless you want to fill out the secure vault data.

Seems a bit silly to hand your credit card to people you don’t know at a restaurant, but not to Grok Bot.

At 02:14 UTC he quote-posted @mark_k:

Our team makes around around 20 improvements per day to Grok @Bot

The doubled “around” is his.

Label: Product claims from the CEO. A screenshot-of-a-card instruction is not a security review. “Around around 20” is not a changelog. @Teslaconomics’s order, and @mark_k’s “joy to use,” are user anecdotes.

Restaurants by phone, as a quote of a bot someone built

On October 18, 2026, at 17:10 UTC, Mr. Musk quote-posted @BrianRoemmele:

Grok @Bot can call restaurants by phone and book you a table

The quoted post, October 18 at 13:31 UTC, says “I built a Grok Bot whose only job is to pick up the phone and book you a table.” He describes telling it to book a table at Gourmet Italia in Temecula, says it found the number and waited for his OK before it dialed, and says he connected a calling service called ClawCall, with a free tier of 30 calls or 30 minutes. He writes that he has no connection to that company. He also writes that his bot does not hand over a credit card, does not leave voicemails unless asked, and does not call on its own.

Label: His sentence is a CEO product claim, posted on top of a user’s build. The restaurant call, the Temecula booking, and the ClawCall connection are @BrianRoemmele’s account of what he made. This desk did not place the call and did not open ClawCall.

“Try Grok @Bot,” on top of a doorstep story

On October 18, 2026, at 17:50 UTC, Mr. Musk quote-posted @Teslaconomics:

Try Grok @Bot

The quoted post, 16:53 UTC the same day, says one text asking for an Ollyball Keepy Uppy ended with the ball on his doorstep, and that he did not open a website. Label: User anecdote, amplified by a two-word reply. It is not a receipt this desk saw, and it is not a test of whether the bot can buy that product for anyone else.

On the map

Grok as a product, and the rule against turning a feature list into a benchmark, are on xAI and Grok. The company page is xAI. The October 18 post that puts Optimus and Cybercab ahead of the car business is on the Tesla Q3 page, not here.
